Weights can be points or percentages
The weights do not have to add to 100. They can be percentages, points, credits or relative weights as long as all categories use the same weight system.
Example
Scores of 88, 92 and 80 with weights 40, 35 and 25 give (88 x 40 + 92 x 35 + 80 x 25) / 100 = 87.4%.
Common mistakes
Check whether weights are percentages or points. If a category is missing, confirm whether it should be excluded or counted as zero.
Limitations
This calculator does not know your school's grading scale, late penalties, dropped assignments or curve rules.
