What this estimate includes
The calculator separates transport, room-based labor, extras and a percentage buffer. Real quotes can also include stairs, elevators, packing materials, heavy items, storage, seasonality and minimum charges.
Example
A 300-unit move at 1.50 per unit costs 450 for distance. Four rooms at 250 adds 1,000, packing or storage extras add 500, and a 5% buffer raises the estimate to about 2,047.50.
Common mistakes
Do not compare quotes unless they include the same services. One mover may include packing materials, stairs and insurance, while another lists them as add-ons.
Limitations
This calculator does not price local labor markets, fragile items, long carries, elevator wait time, parking permits, customs, fuel surcharges or last-minute booking premiums.
