Equal vs weighted split
Equal split works when everyone shares the same benefit. A custom primary share helps when one person covers a larger room, upgrade or private leg of the trip.
Example
If shared cost is 1,200 for 4 people, equal split is 300 each. If one primary payer covers 25%, that person pays 300 and the remaining amount is split among the others.
Common mistakes
Agree whether taxes, tips, booking fees and currency conversion costs are included before splitting the bill.
Limitations
This calculator does not track who paid each receipt, exchange-rate timing or personal expenses outside the shared total.
