Formula

Tip = bill amount x tip percentage / 100. Total = bill amount + tip. Per person = total / number of people.

Example

For an 80 bill and a 20% tip, the tip is 16 and the total is 96. Split between four people, each person pays 24 if the bill is divided evenly.

This calculator does not recommend an appropriate tip. Customs and expectations vary by country, service type and situation. If a service charge or tax is included, decide whether your tip should be based on the subtotal or final bill.
