PPI is only one display attribute
Pixel density affects sharpness, but contrast, panel technology, scaling, brightness and viewing distance also shape perceived quality.
Example
A 1920 by 1080 display has a pixel diagonal of about 2,203 pixels. On a 24-inch screen, that is about 92 PPI.
How to use the result
Compare screens at the viewing distance you actually use. A phone can need much higher PPI than a desktop monitor because it is held closer.
Limitations
PPI does not measure color accuracy, refresh rate, brightness, subpixel layout, scaling quality or eye comfort.
