Rates and real bills
Electricity bills may include tiered rates, fixed charges, taxes and time-of-use pricing. Enter the effective per-kWh rate if you want a closer estimate.
Example
A 1,000 watt device used 2 hours per day for 30 days uses 60 kWh. At 0.18 per kWh, estimated energy cost is 10.80.
Common mistakes
Use watts, not kilowatts, in the power field. If a device cycles on and off, use average power draw rather than the maximum label rating.
Limitations
This calculator does not include demand charges, fixed fees, taxes, time-of-use pricing, standby loads or seasonal usage changes.
