Equity is not cash
Equity compensation depends on vesting, share price, liquidity and taxes. Benefits may be valuable but not directly spendable.
Example
A package with 120,000 base salary, 15,000 bonus, 30,000 annual equity value and 12,000 benefits has an estimated total compensation value of 177,000 before taxes and vesting details.
How to compare offers
Separate guaranteed cash from variable bonus, equity and benefits. A higher total package may be less certain if much of it depends on share price or performance targets.
Limitations
The calculator does not value job security, vesting cliffs, liquidity, tax treatment, health coverage quality, retirement matching rules or location-specific cost of living.
