Age changes wealth comparisons
Wealth typically accumulates over time, so age-specific benchmarks are more meaningful than all-adult benchmarks for many personal finance questions.
Example
If your net worth is 180,000, p50 is 100,000 and p75 is 300,000 for the selected age group, the calculator estimates that you are between the median and 75th percentile.
Common mistakes
Use a consistent net-worth definition. Primary residence equity, retirement accounts, student loans and business ownership may or may not be included depending on the benchmark source.
