Trip and reimbursement

Mileage Calculator

Estimate a mileage-based trip cost or reimbursement amount from a distance and rate.

Do not treat the rate as universal

Mileage reimbursement and tax-deductible mileage rules are country-specific and can change. This calculator uses the rate you enter rather than pretending to know the correct legal rate.

Example

If you drive 150 miles and use a rate of 0.67 per mile, the estimated reimbursement or mileage cost is 150 x 0.67 = 100.50.

Common mistakes

Do not mix miles with a kilometer rate, or kilometers with a mile rate. If the trip has both business and personal portions, calculate only the eligible distance for the purpose you are using.

Limitations

This is arithmetic only and does not determine tax eligibility, employer policy or legal reimbursement rules. Confirm the correct rate and recordkeeping requirements for your country or organization.
