Use matched benchmarks
Income percentiles depend on country, age, household size, tax definition, currency, year and whether income is individual or household income. Use official statistical agency data for the exact population you want to compare against.
Example
If your income is 85,000 and your chosen dataset has p75 at 80,000 and p90 at 120,000, the calculator places the income between the 75th and 90th percentile by interpolation.
Common mistakes
Do not compare pre-tax individual income with after-tax household income. Also avoid mixing data years when inflation or wage growth has changed the distribution.
Limitations
This page does not include a live official income database. The result depends entirely on the benchmark values and population definition you enter.
