How the duration is calculated
The calculator converts both times to seconds after midnight and subtracts start from end. If the end time is next day, 24 hours are added to the end time.
Example
For a shift from 22:30 to 06:15 next day, enable the next-day option. The duration is 7 hours and 45 minutes.
What this does not include
This is a clock-time duration tool. It does not apply time zones, daylight saving time changes, unpaid breaks or payroll rounding rules unless you adjust the inputs yourself.
