This is a simple hours calculator. It does not apply overtime rules, rounding policies, payroll tax, holiday pay or jurisdiction-specific labor law.
Example
A shift from 09:00 to 17:30 is 8.5 hours. Subtracting a 30-minute break leaves 8 paid hours. At 25 per hour, gross pay is 200 before taxes or deductions.
Common mistakes
Check whether your workplace rounds clock-in and clock-out times, treats breaks as paid or unpaid, and handles overnight shifts differently.
Limitations
The result is a planning estimate and should not replace payroll records, employment contracts or local labor rules.
