This calculator reports mathematical range and expected value. It does not generate random rolls or make predictions about any future random event.
Example
For 2 six-sided dice with no modifier, the minimum is 2, the maximum is 12 and the expected value is 2 x (6 + 1) / 2 = 7.
How to use the result
Expected value is the long-run average over many rolls, not the result you should expect on the next roll.
Limitations
This calculator assumes fair dice with equally likely sides. It does not model advantage rules, exploding dice, rerolls or custom probability tables.
