What this calculator covers
This calculator models a simple flat commission rate and shows both commission-only earnings and total pay when base pay is included.
Example
If sales are $25,000 at an 8% commission rate, commission is $2,000. With $3,000 base pay, total pay is $5,000. If the quota is $30,000, quota attainment is about 83.3%.
Common mistakes
Check whether the commission rate applies to revenue, gross profit, collected cash or only eligible products. Also check whether returns, discounts or split deals reduce credited sales.
Limitations
- Tiered commission plans, accelerators, caps, clawbacks and split credit are not included.
- Taxes, payroll deductions and local employment rules are not modeled.
- Use the written compensation plan as the authority for real pay.
